Job Description:
The Lead Technical Editor ( LTE) role is for creative and
intelligent individuals who have keen interest in technology and the creation
of technical content to help others learn new technologies or develop new
skills.
The focus of the LTE role is to ensure that books are
written according to their specification and that the content meets Packt
standards. The LTE gives feedback to authors, recruits and works with
reviewers, and works with other Packt staff to ensure books are developed.
This role requires you to work with many technologies. It is
ideal for fast learners who are interested in following emerging technologies
and what professional computer users are interested in - more than
specializing. Nevertheless, you are likely to develop more knowledge of certain
topic areas and you would then be expected to develop more books on these
technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent command of English.
- Ability to learn technologies fast.
- Effective Time management and ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and self-manage with minimal supervision.
- Multi-tasking. The LTE works on multiple projects at a time, with different titles being in different stages of development.
- Excellent ability to work in a team.
- Three months editorial experience.
