Primary Job Responsibilities  :

Job Scope

-Accountable for the design and development of the testing for a product feature or sub-system (example: owns search autosuggest, or a substantial part of the classification autotagger , or owns Button Factory, or a substantial part of Account Setup).

- Spends most of the time developing test code and testing, and efficiently produces elegant, clean tests with no unnecessary complication or abstraction.

-Test code is well-commented, easy to maintain, and can be reused across a sub-system or feature (for example a portion of a test framework or library). Hands on experience in Automation design and coding.

- Test code is thoroughly tested and is reliable with very few bugs.

- Beginning to lead feature or sub-system test design reviews and participates in code reviews for their areas. Is recognized as the go-to test engineer for that component.

-Participates in test design and test systems architecture discussions, proposes and discusses solutions to system and product changes that are directly related to their area of focus.

Interaction:

-Frequently interfaces with other functional teams on all aspects of a feature or sub-system.

- Influences senior management on product direction and quality, particularly related to their area of focus and expertise.

-Becoming visible across major engineering organizations, or through external forums such as conferences, workshops, or open source initiatives.

-Provides leadership to others, particularly junior engineers who work on the same team or related features or product sub-systems.

Architecture and Design:

-Test code and test designs may require refinement by more senior engineers, and do not always sufficiently consider the long-term technical strategy, interactions between components, compatibility issues, reuse by other systems or teams.

-Can successfully deliver to an existing functional or design specification.

-Can be relied on to deliver features and sub-systems on time and to requirements, without quality issues.

-Generally correctly estimates software schedules.

-Ability to automate the Test case using Selenium.

- Works well within a team, and contributes effectively to the success of those that they interact with regularly.

-Understands and is able to reason about the business, as it relates to their area of expertise.

-Developing the ability to diagnose and resolve live site issues

-Track record of on-time feature delivery, with few bugs and issues.

- Being seen as the go-to tester for a major feature or product component.

-Ability to work with minimal supervision.

-Hands on Java with Test NG language

-Can triage and resolve site issues with supervision.

-Demonstrated experience in influencing their team’s direction.

-Understanding of the business as it relates to their area of expertise.

- Demonstrated leadership through design and code reviews.

-Hands on Unix and SQL.
