software Quality Assurance Engineer that will be responsible for:
- Responding to reported problems and verifying the same.
- Suggest potential fixes to bugs found during release testing.
- Design and develop test automation solutions to help QA regression cycle
- Own, test and certify sub systems of the product.
- Deliver high quality products.
- Validate Quality of the 3rd party solutions/products
- Work in a global team environment
- Maintain and present quality metrics to the team.
- Define, implement, execute, and document test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functionality.
- Investigate, document and communicate test results
- Work closely with the development team to analyze, debug and resolve any issues
- Participate actively in designing functional/performance automation test suites for regression testing activities.
- Participate in product functional reviews, test specifications, documentation review.
- Communicate effectively with developers and QA peers and other stakeholders in the organization.
- Execute planned testing tasks and provide timely and accurate analysis of findings
- Analyze test results to identify the issues and generate QA status report
- Utilize analytical skills in determining the root cause of problems
- Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and re-prioritize responsibilities based on changing requirements (such as urgent customer problems).
- Candidate should be independent, innovative and resourceful QA engineer with advanced problem solving skills, high degree of competency in certifying enterprise software products for customer delivery and enjoy working in fast paced product development organization. Candidate should be a quick learner, passionate and experienced in testing components that are part of distributed server infrastructure.
Specific
Knowledge/Skills
- BS in Computer Science (or equivalent degree)
- 1-3 years hands-on Software Quality Assurance and testing experience
- Strong experience in scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python), UNIX OS
- Experience in Java coding would be an added advantage.
- Expertise in software testing methodology and test processes. Ability to build test plans and test cases.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills
- Strong background in database technologies is a must.
- Expertise in writing SQL queries (strong knowledge of SQL)
- Background in QA methodologies and experience developing, automating and executing comprehensive test suites for Databases like DB2, Oracle or MSQ SQL Server.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux/UNIX variants) with in-depth experience testing software on these platforms
- Ability to work independently and remotely with limited supervision
- Capability of working with a wide range of complex computing environments
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, analyzing, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting systems and system related technology
- Must be flexible and able to adapt strategy to changing business requirements.
